Consoles and Emulators: Project 64 4.0

Ballaam edited this page Apr 20, 2025 · 8 revisions

This article covers how to run the 4.0 version of Project64 for DK64 Randomizer, which is a popular N64 emulator for Windows.

Setup

NOTE: Due to instability issues with more recent versions of PJ64 4.0, we're only recommending one specific build.

Project 64 4.0 introduces some important functionality with connecting your game to an external server, which is useful in the context of Archipelago and Crowd Control. Additionally, PJ64 4.0 removes the requirement to modify the RDB file that was necessitated in earlier versions of the emulator.

Troubleshooting

Jittery Camera

Make sure Emulate frame buffer is on in Options > Graphics Settings > Frame buffer

My kong's eyes are gone

Visit Options > Graphics Settings > Emulation, and then uncheck Enable N64-style mip-mapping
