The New Machine menu opens up a form for adding a new machine to the database.

When adding a new machine, the following fields are required:

  • Modality
  • Description
  • Manufacturer
  • Model
  • Serial number
  • Location
  • Room
  • Machine status

Description can be any text (up to 60 characters) used to easily identify the machine. Good descriptions would be whatever the technologists commonly use to refer to the machine.

The Vendor site ID field can be used to store whatever unique site identifier the equipment vendor might use to refer to the machine.

Clicking the Add Machine button will add the machine to the database and then redirect to the Add Tube for the machine. If there are any errors with the submission (i.e. required fields not set), the New machine form will be displayed again with an error message along the top.
