help mixer effects waveshaper
This is the Waveshaper effect. As the name suggests the effect will reshape the input sound wave following the curve you have created. It's mainly used to create a distortion (aka saturation), an overdrive effect to a sound. You could transform a simple guitare to an electric satured one.

This is effect by default without any change applied:
For example with this setting we are converting a sine wave into square wave, as you can see on the preview on the right:
By default the curve will be symmetrical around the zero point. But you can disable the symmetry with the toggle symm
.

This gives you the possibility to apply a different shape to the lower amd upper parts of the waveform.
