Hello there. Probably you did not know yet, but starting with Home Assistant 2025-9-0, the in-built asuswrt integration starts using my asusrouter library as the backend (same as the asusrouter custom integration you are using). With this collaboration, I will help improve the user experience of the core integration. So, here is a summary of what it means to you:

Compatibility

• 🤔 You can use both integrations simultaneously without any issues
• ❓ Do you need to do anything special? No. Just ensure you are installing the updates, and that's it

asusrouter path

• 📦 asusrouter will stay a completely independent custom integration available through HACS
• 🛠️ asusrouter will be developed fully independently, will receive new features and bug fixes

asuswrt path

• ⛏️ asuswrt will benefit from the improvements made to asusrouter integration and backend
• 🚶‍➡️ asuswrt will focus on the stability of basic features
• 🏎️ asuswrt will NOT get all the features of asusrouter. While some basic features may overlap, asusrouter will stay a more advanced and customised integration

Support

• ⁉️ You have to report bugs for asuswrt to the HA Core repository as usual. You have to report bugs for asusrouter in its repository as usual. You might not get support if you fail to do so

🚀 Features

• Unpinned asusrouter dependency from the exact version to greater than to ensure compatibility with any future HA version

🐞 Bug Fixes

• Improved error handling on data fetch

• Bumped asusrouter library to 1.21.0
