💥 Please, read this introduction to the release notes
Hello there. Probably you did not know yet, but starting with Home Assistant 2025-9-0, the in-built asuswrt integration starts using my asusrouter library as the backend (same as the asusrouter custom integration you are using). With this collaboration, I will help improve the user experience of the core integration. So, here is a summary of what it means to you:
Compatibility
- 🤔 You can use both integrations simultaneously without any issues
- ❓ Do you need to do anything special? No. Just ensure you are installing the updates, and that's it
asusrouter path
- 📦
asusrouterwill stay a completely independent custom integration available through HACS - 🛠️
asusrouterwill be developed fully independently, will receive new features and bug fixes
asuswrt path
- ⛏️
asuswrtwill benefit from the improvements made toasusrouterintegration and backend - 🚶➡️
asuswrtwill focus on the stability of basic features - 🏎️
asuswrtwill NOT get all the features ofasusrouter. While some basic features may overlap, asusrouterwill stay a more advanced and customised integration
