Summary of Changes

Hello @rebeccaellis, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request addresses an issue by implementing standard Google Cloud region tags within a Java code sample for the Retail API. The primary purpose is to enable accurate and automated extraction of this specific code snippet for inclusion in official documentation, making it easier for users to find and utilize the 'search with filtering' functionality.

Highlights

  • Documentation Tagging: Added [START] and [END] region tags to the SearchWithFiltering.java sample file.
  • Code Sample Extraction: The new region tag, retail_search_for_products_with_filtering, now properly delineates the code snippet for search with filtering, enabling its automatic extraction for documentation.

Code Review

This pull request adds region tags to the SearchWithFiltering.java sample file. The change is minor, but I've identified a small formatting inconsistency that should be addressed to maintain a consistent style across the codebase.

For consistency with other sample files in this directory (e.g., SearchSimpleQuery.java and SearchWithPagination.java) and to adhere to common Java styling conventions, please add a blank line between the package declaration and this // [START ...] region tag.1

The common convention in this repository and a general best practice is to separate the package declaration from the rest of the file with a blank line, which improves readability.

The desired format is:

package ...;

// [START ...]

import ...;

Footnotes

  1. The Google Java Style Guide (section 4.6.1 on blank lines) recommends a single blank line to separate logical sections of a source file, such as between the package statement and import statements or class declarations.
