PileDrivingRecord Measurement Properties

Nick Machairas edited this page Jun 21, 2024 · 3 revisions

The following are observed properties that may be recorded on as part of a pile driving record. The code value is used as part of the propertyClass property within a DriveRecordProperty object.

For comments/feedback on the elements below or to propose properties that are missing, create a post at the Deep Foundations: Schema Discussion.

ID Name Description DataType QuantityClass
blow_count Blow Count The number of strikes of the hammer against the pile for a distance given by pen_increment integer dimensionless
stroke Stroke length The height of hammer fall onto the pile double length
energy Energy The energy delivered to the pile double energy
bearing Bearing The bearing of the pile at a given tip depth, as determined from a Wave Equation Analysis or Dynamic Formula of the driving system. double force
tip_elevation Tip elevation The elevation of the pile tip, where value and unit of measure are defined by the coordinate reference system of the pile's centerline origin (eg cutoff elevation) double length
remark Remark A note specifically associated with the domain value (pile tip position) and/or other measurements at this location string dimensionless
pen_increment Penetration Increment The distance that the pile tip travels for a given number of hammer blows double length
pen_per_blow Penetration per blow The distance traveled per blow of the hammer. This value is typically computed from the blow_count and pen_increment values double length
time Time Time recorded time time
pressure Pressure Pressure at hammer for double acting hammer or downthrust pressure when vibrating double pressure
