I agree this is correct but I'm not sure it makes sense to push upstream.
You might need it on your end for experimentation but adding a BLE shield on a board with an existing BLE module might not be a case worst sharing.

I agree, the board has already a BLE module. Just wanted to make the user experience better such that it will work out of the box. But the user must consider that by activating the shield overlay, the onboard BLE module will be disabled.

enhance usability.
