Introduction

What is Jade Dictionary?

A bilingual Chinese-English dictionary web and Android app with a database of over 120,000 words, with practicing and word-saving features. Users can improve vocabulary retention with practice modules to practice words through flashcards or quizzes. User word lists can also be synchronized across different devices and platforms. Features built-in Chinese keyboard and handwriting input so users don't need to install it.

Technologies and Resources

Front End

• Built with Next.js/React, Tailwind CSS, Mantine.
• Deployed to Vercel
• EmailJS for contact forms.
• simple-keyboard for built-in Chinese keyboard.
• HanziLookupJS for Chinese handwriting input.

Back End

• Firebase for authentication, user profiles, file and data storage.
