Company Initial Setup

  1. Create a GitHub Organization (if none exists):

    • Go to GitHub Organizations
    • Choose "Free" plan (sponsored licenses work with free Orgs)
    • Designate at least one maintainer
  2. Add Employees to Org:

    • Invite team members via their GitHub accounts
    • Members must accept invitation before license allocation
  3. Sponsorship Requirement:

    • The Org must be an active sponsor of:
      https://github.com/sponsors/johnsoncodehk

Eligibility

  • Only GitHub Organization members are eligible for sponsored licenses.
  • Personal GitHub accounts (outside an Org) require manual approval.

License Activation

Employees must either:

  • Click "Verify Sponsor Status" on Vue (Official) welcome page, OR
  • Execute command:
    Vue: Verify Sponsor Status

    Then select "via GitHub Organization"

Default License Allocation

  • Licenses are automatically granted to all members of your GitHub Organization.
  • If your Org exceeds the sponsored tier’s seat limit:
    • Members are prioritized by join date (earliest members first).

Whitelist (Optional)

To explicitly specify licensed members:

  1. Create a public Team named exactly:
    vue-official-licensed

  2. Add target members to this Team.
  3. The plugin will only grant licenses to members in this Team.

Non-Org Accounts

For sponsoring non-Org members (e.g., contractors):

  • Contact us for manual setup.

Troubleshooting

  • Ensure the vue-official-licensed team (If exists) is public.
  • Changes may take 30 minutes to sync.
  • Members must have accepted Org invitations.
  • Verify Org sponsorship is active.
