IMPULSE v2.3.2
This version has one bug fix and one enhancement applicable to serial devices only.

3D SPECTRUM BUG 📊
The 3D spectrum file was growing too big causing the browser refresh to eventually fail after a long recording. This problem was solved by only displaying the last 250 rows.

AUTOMATIC TEMPERATURE CALIBRATION 🌡️
A new function has been added for users with GS-MAX-8000 to carry out an automatic temperature calibration. This is normally a time consuming process, but with the auto calibrate function and an improvised temperature calibration chamber this process can take place automatically. Consider this function to be a beta version and send me feedback and suggestions for how to improve it.

Impulse MCA v2.3.0

Yea, I know... v2.2.9 was a dudd 👎 , it doesn't take much one single syntax error and it froze 🥶

Hopefully the sun 🌞 is shining upon us with v2.3, giving us hours of spectrometry joy 🤩

As always....

Impulse v2.2.8

This is a small but essential update (especially for GS-MAX devices).

This version fixes serial communication issues experienced in v2.2.7, the main problem was not enough delay between commands, resulting in data collision.

I also fixed a small issue which prevented exporting files to .csv when the filename already existed, it now appends a number my-spectrum(1).csv

Christmas 2024 Version 🎄

In this version I have fixed and improved the 2D spectrum calibration and isotope flags. The pulldown selection now updates dynamically and lists all json files in the /i/tbl/ directory. this makes it easy for users to create their own isotope files. Simply duplicate one of the existing files and add your own isotopes.

I also fixed a bug in the calibration which would cause the spectrum to freeze.

Please report all bugs 🐜

Happy New Year to all !

Steven

Welcome to version 2.2.4

Good news for many of you, I got rid of all the silly themes which purpose was mainly to keep me amused during hors of mindless coding. Some of you probably liked the banana theme or the underwater theme, but now you will have a more grown up version.

I have kept the new look to "light theme" and "dark theme", I hope you like it....

Bruce's bug list.....

Background Comparison and Background Subtract work fine on "energy-by-bin" and "normal display", but does not seem to work on "Log(y)"

  • Fixed

the background red line is always 1/2 the value of the current spectrum, even when you compare the same spectrum with itself.

  • Fixed

There is a trivial error in the headers: The impulse tab always reads v2.1.1 rather than the current version of v2.2.1 ... also,

  • Fixed

when there are a lot of bin peaks and you select "isotopes", there are often a plethora of un-labeled red lines with yellow dots on the end rather than isotope names, which looks quite strange.

  • Fixed

Another noticeable strangeness is that the bin peak labels show stable values when moving from a normal display to the Log(x) display, but change suddenly to different values when going to the "energy-by-bin" display

  • Fixed

one would think that the computed centroids would still be the same.

  • Fixed

And not to forget that the dashed lines pointing all the way to the x axis are missing when in "energy-by-bin" mode ...

  • Done 😊
