Who am I?

  • Jakarta EE developer since 2006 (alright, Java EE then), computer scientist, interested in reliable systems with long-term maintainability and with large experiences with bringing half-dead projects back into successful life as modern, reliable and sustainable.
  • I live near Pilsen (yes, beer!) in an old house in a small village.

What Are You Working On?

  • Since 2021 I am working on GlassFish as a lead and the most active developer.
  • Why? Once upon a time, I was a developer of huge project which used SunOne. The project was nearly dead and me and my team rescued it. It is still successful and does regular upgrades to current technologies. Along the path I had to fix or workaround all bugs in GlassFish (and Payara).
  • So after all, I made a decision - I will force GlassFish to be modern again - and better than it ever was, even if it would resist!
  • Except GlassFish I help also related projects like XmlSec, Felix, Metro, Jersey, ... I am also a committer of the TCK, Faces, Persistence

How would I spend your money?

  • To buy equipment
  • To survive, so I would be able to spend my time as an open source developer.
