I have been producing open source software for 20 years, and during that time I have built, maintained, or contributed to hundreds of projects, including the original dotenv (2012-present), delayed_job (2004-2010), flipper (2021-2024), and @probot (2016-2018). I worked at GitHub for nearly a decade. For about half that time held the lofty title “Director of Open Source” (whatever that means), where I worked to make GitHub a better place for open source. I spent the other half of my time at GitHub in engineering, working on a variety of projects that range from updating legacy libraries and infrastructure, to building new APIs and platforms, to green field products.

Now I work full-time on open source projects, for fun and profit. At the moment I am focusing most of my attention on @signalk (like HomeAssistant for boats) and @chordbook.
