Hey! I'm Mathias, creator of Workout.cool.
An open-source fitness platform rebuilt from scratch after the original was abandoned.

I was the main contributor to the original project (workout.lol), which gained real traction: 1.4k stars, 95 forks, and ~20K monthly visits.

But it hit a wall: exercise video licensing issues made it hard to maintain.
The project was sold, and sadly, the new owner quickly stopped updating it.

For 9 months, I tried to save the old project where i was the main maintainer. For 9 months, I sended something like 15 emails & messages but no replies. Issues were abandoned and pull requests also.

So I decided to rebuild everything, clean and open.
1200+ exercises, videos, progress tracking, multi-language, self-hostable and MIT licensed.

Not for money.
But because fitness tools should stay free and reliable for everyone.
