Travel awards are available at multiple levels within the Department, Faculty, and University

This is the workflow for obtaining travel awards from all three levels:

  1. Graduate Studies: Graduate students will need to apply for the SGS Conference and Exposition Award first: In-house awards (concordia.ca).

Link to apply: microsoft form application

    • Montreal/Greater-Montreal area (GMA) – up to $500 to cover registration fees only.
    • National conference (Canada/Quebec except GMA) - $750
    • International conference - $1,000
  2. Department of Psychology: Then email will need to be sent to the Psychology department assistant to the Chair (psychology@concordia.ca) and Cc me (your supervisor!) a copy of the application that was used to apply for the SGS Conference and Exposition Award. The email should request a letter of support from the Chair. The Chair’s letter of support indicates the amount of money that the Department will contribute to the student’s travel cost.

    • The application form and all requested supporting documents need to be combined in a single pdf file
    • The response from SGS must be included with the application
    • The Department’s contribution is: $150 for international conferences and $100 for domestic conferences
  3. Faculty of Arts and Sciences: Based on this, you will receive a letter of support from the Chair that is then to be used as one of the supporting documents for the application for the FAS Graduate Student Conference Travel Award.
