๐Ÿ–– Neil Bouguerra

Computer Science Graduate โ€“ Digital Craftsman

I'm an aspiring software engineer with a passion for building intelligent systems that solve real-world problems. From financial modelling to backend automation, I approach every project with a focus on clarity, efficiency and impact. I've worked on data pipelines, anomaly detection tools and mobile apps โ€” combining tech and finance to drive smarter decisions. Right now, I'm diving deeper into backend development, app engineering and AI-driven finance.

๐Ÿ“š Neil's Coding Journey

My coding journey started when I was 13, trying to set up my own Minecraft server from scratch. I didnโ€™t just want to play โ€” I wanted to create a place where friends could come together, build and share freely. That meant diving headfirst into Java, learning Spigot, dealing with port forwarding, Linux shell commands and figuring out how to manage plugins and server crashes before I even knew what debugging really was. By the time I hit 16, I had a new hustle โ€” walking into restaurants and pitching websites to them for pocket money. Iโ€™d wireframe on napkins, build with WordPress, hand-code in HTML/CSS/JS and deliver full sites to real clients. It was scrappy, but it taught me how to deliver value with code. In my twenties, I doubled down. I enrolled in a Computer Science degree at City, University of London and studied systems architecture, data structures, algorithms and AI. I worked on fintech products, built cross-platform apps, interned in finance and software and explored how software can make money smarter. And now? Iโ€™m still building. Still learning. Still chasing that spark that got lit in a Minecraft folder over a decade ago.
