For our team hackathon, I re-did some of the tutorial thumbnails to better match the style of our header images and our V2 micro:bit images
@Jaqster I wanted to tag someone from micro:bit to review these images, do you know who I should add? |
Love these!!! Let's tag @microbit-mark @microbit-giles |
They are great updates thanks @soniakandah One of the brand rules is "Only show the micro:bit in its available colours (green, blue, yellow, red)." so we should avoid purple. Otherwise LGTM |
Great to see these updated but some these treatments using emojis fall foul of our brand rules about not anthropomorphising the micro:bit. I'm afraid we're really strict about asking people not to make cartoon characters out of the micro:bit board, add faces etc. Indeed some time ago I think the micro:bit MakeCode banner was tweaked to avoid this. The heart, name tag and dice images are all fine from this point of view. |
Any update here? |
Closing old pull requests. |
@abchatra I'm reopening this to request reconsideration for including the updated thumbnails. As this was an old PR we weren't tracking this internally and closing it has brought it up to our attention again. While the new thumbnails do still have some anthropomorphising (as the original do), the Foundation is happy to go ahead with them, as they fit well with the rest of the homepage and feel like a positive improvement. So, it'd be great to get them into the next MakeCode release if possible. |
