Problem

Python 3.7 is no longer supported on our build pipeline. Given that 3.8 has reached EOL it makes sense to at least drop 3.7 support now also on the 2.x branch.

Just as a reminder: for now we keep Python 3.8 support for Windows 7 compatibility.
