Shaping behaviour toward a world without lemon eyes.
Motivation: BSc Computational Social Science - University of Amsterdam
Citroenogen is an awareness project aimed at educating parents and children about the growing problem of myopia (bijziendheid). Nearsightedness is increasingly common among young people. By 2050, nearly half of the world population is projected to be affected.
When you are nearsighted, objects at a distance appear blurry, while close objects remain sharp. This happens because the eyes become elongated, resembling the shape of a lemonβhence the name Citroenogen (Lemon Eyes).
Our platform provides:
- β Information on the causes and risks of myopia.
- β Tips for parents to prevent and manage nearsightedness in children.
- β Resources to understand and combat the global rise of myopia.
