Carefully wiggle out the IN-12 nixies one by one. Take your time and try to do it in a circular motion, it takes a while, especially the first one. I suggest to wash hands beforehand so you have a good grip.
Once all the nixies are out, grab the colon and pull the inner plate out. It does a nasty sound but don't worry it won't get damaged :)
Hit the clock agains the front side until the pcb falls out. It can take quite a strong impact to fall out.
You can now carefully pull the pcbs apart from their header sockets.
Done.
IN-16 version
slide a knife to the side of the bottom plate and bend it upwards until the bottom plate pops out
Push the nixies in. It may get stuck near the usb connector so you will have to help it a bit with a knife
