Hello there! My name is LJ Valencia. 👋

About me

I graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Economics with a minor in Political Science.

My research interests focus on time-series econometrics, forecasting, and empirical macroeconomics.

I am interested in the application of machine learning to problems related to macroeconomic forecasting and time-series econometrics. Furthermore, I am interested in the software development of tools relevant to macroeconomic analysis.

Shortly after completing my studies at the University of Alberta, I worked as a Junior Economist at Western Economic Diversification Canada (WD/DEO), now called Prairies Economic Development Canada.

I joined the Bank of Canada as a Research Assistant near the end of August 2021.
