Add Username in Top Panel (Extreme Right Side)

This GNOME extension displays the current username in the top panel, positioned at the far right after the power button.

Installation

1. Visit the extension's page.
2. Ensure the GNOME Shell Integration is installed and enabled.
3. Click the switch to enable the extension.

Compatibility

This extension is compatible with GNOME Shell versions 45, 46, 47 and 48.

Manual Installation from Source

Clone the repository directly into the GNOME extensions directory

git clone https://github.com/iodn/username-in-topbar.git ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/username-in-topbar@neroteam.com

Enable the extension

gnome-extensions enable username-in-topbar@neroteam.com

Notes:

• If the extension does not appear, restart GNOME Shell:
  • On X11, press Alt + F2, type r, and press Enter.
  • On Wayland, log out and log back in for changes to take effect.
