17-Ensuring reproducibility with renv

Summary

This repository provides materials for a session that is part of the I2DS Tools for Data Science workshop run at the Hertie School, Berlin in November 2022. The student-run workshop is part of the course Introduction to Data Science taught by Simon Munzert at the Hertie School, Berlin, in Fall 2022.

Session contents

This session will introduce you to the package renv which provides a package version control and better management of libraries. The provided presentation provides a first overview of the package and its main functions. The practice material provide the opportunity to practice the functions, for an improved understanding what each function does.

Main learning objectives

The goals of this session are to 1) explain in short why libraries need to be managed and 2) provide all necessary tools to use renv in the future working on R projects in order to increase reproducibility and facilitate cooperation.
