Manual

First of all, thank you for browsing this page.

Ordinary user

  1. Start the application
  2. Click [activate]

Advanced users

  1. Start the application
  2. Open [Settings]

  • Server settings

    • Primary DNS server
      • Set the primary DNS server, which can be customized in the server interface
    • Secondary DNS server
      • If the primary DNS server fails to resolve, use this server
    • DNS test server
      • Used to resolve the domain name in the [Test] fragment

  • System Settings

    • Auto Activate on boot
      • The Daedalus VPN service is automatically enabled when the Android system is started
    • Show notification
      • When the Daedalus VPN service is enabled, a notification is displayed in the status bar
    • Log size limit
      • Set the maximum length of the log
      • 0 is disabled, -1 is unlimited length

  • Advanced System Settings

    • On
      • Activate the Advanced mode (higher degree of customization)
    • Count DNS query times
      • The number of DNS queries is displayed in the notification in the status bar
    • Local rules resolution
      • Enable the rules listed in the [Rules] configuration tab
    • DNS over TCP
      • Enable the TCP protocol query (slightly lower efficiency, high anti-hijacking ability)

  • Details of [Rules]

    • Top-right corner [HOSTS / DNSMASQ] for the switching configurations (only switching the interface list, not activation of your configurations)
    • Bottom-right corner [floating button] to add rules
    • Click a rule to enable; multiple items on the same configuration can be activated on the same time, but only one configuration at the same time (i.e. either HOSTS or DNSMASQ)
    • Built-in rule configuration(for cn users)
      • racaljk / hosts - the most complete hosts
      • sy618 / hosts - both to support ads and FQ hosts
      • vokins / yhosts - AD hosts to advertise hosts
      • lengers / connector - another convenient FQ rule
      • sy618 / hosts / dnsad - to advertise the DNSMasq rule
      • sy618 / hosts / dnsfq - FQ with DNSMasq rules

If you find any of them is good, please click on the upper right corner of the [Star] button oh

Android 5.0 or lower

  • Main interface - enable service
  • Server - Supporting custom DNS servers (but does not special ports)
  • Rules - not supported
  • Advanced settings - not supported
  • Boot enabled - not supported
  • Minimum support for Android 4.0.3
    • If you still use what 2.3, then you can throw the phone

Android 5.0 and above

Non-advanced users, the same operation

  • Server - Supporting DNS servers with/without special ports
  • Settings
    • Boot enabled - supported
    • Advanced settings - supported
  • Rules - Hosts and DNSMasq rules are now supported
    • If you want to use the rules in the [Settings] check the [local rules]
    • Any type of rule can be enabled at the same time multiple

Android 7.1 and above

  • Quickly enabled via desktop shortcuts (long press desktop icon)

User note

  • The main maintainers of this project love to study, so the update time is uncertain
  • Why is the exclamation mark for the taskbar still? Because the system does not take VPN ah
    • Solution: Can science go online and do not ask Google or DuckDuckGo?
  • Why some areas of the user, although enabled but still can not access some sites?
  • Local ISPs forcibly block certain IPs
  • Network exports forcibly block certain SNI servers
  • ISP hijacked (recommended to enable TCP or enable local rules)
  • Google Play can access, but can not download the app because the IP for a particular domain is blocked and can not find a valid certificate
  • Some site content can not be loaded because those contents are transmitted using the HTTP protocol and are reviewed
  • The Telegram client uses an IP address to access the server, and the web version is available

    • This application does not provide [available] [donation] channel
    • When using this application to reach a certain number of times, there will be related tips

  • Recent updates will slow down
