For files relating to the article "Pitfalls of amateur regression: The Dutch New Herring controversies",¹ which been accepted to the Scandinavian Journal of Statistics.

In the sequel, we refer to the authors of the aforementioned article. This repo contains the following

• ours contains our and Vollaard's datasets, and related Python scripts to parse the raw data from the webpages of Algemene Dagblad, a Dutch national daily newspaper, and R scripts to process and analyse both ours and Vollaard's datasets.
• vollaard collects the original reports and datasets published by Ben Vollaard in various articles in 2017.
• A semi-permanent link to the related Economist article² publicizing Vollaard's reports, accessible without paywall, is provided.
