No longer do you have to wonder what you can cook! If you have an Android phone, you can use this app to search for recipes using ingredients you already have available to you. You can also:
- keep track of the ingredients you have in a pantry list
- favorite your frequently used recipes for quick access
- keep multiple shopping lists to help you track ingredients in a recipe you may not have available
This application makes use of Google's Material Design to provide a clear and clean user interface and experience.
These instructions will get you a copy of the project up and running on your local machine for development and testing purposes. If you wish to only install the application, see deployment.
- Latest Version of Android Studio
- Gradle 3.5.2
- Git
- Android smartphone (or emulator) running Android 5.0 or greater
To get started, clone the repository in an easy to find location.
git clone https://github.com/ethan-hann/Recipe5nd.git
In Android Studio, "Open an existing Android Studio project".
Navigate to where you cloned the repository and then to the Source
folder.
You should now have the project up and running in Android Studio.
You can build and deploy the application to an emulator directly in Android Studio or to a real device given it is connected to the computer.
There are future plans to integrate this app with Google Play, but for now here are the instructions to get the app on your smartphone:
- Make sure your device meets the minimum requirements.
- Go to releases and download the APK for the latest version.
- In the security settings on your device, you need to have
Install unknown apps
enabled.
