This project presents an Ontology-Based Intelligent Tutoring System (ITS) for vocabulary learning in foreign languages.

Ontology Design: Ontologies are created using Protégé Editor and stored in four OWL files. These files enable integration of heterogeneous data sources, inference, and knowledge synthesis.

Application Development: The system is implemented in Java with a MySQL database.

Semantic Web Framework: The Apache Jena framework is used to manage and query ontologies efficiently. It also provides persistence support, allowing ontology models to be stored and updated in MySQL tables.

Database Structure: Two types of tables are defined: case tables (user and learning data) and system tables (ontology and configuration data).
