Rather than testing explicitly for every valid Wii remote name, Wii software only checks that the name starts with "Nintendo RVL-CNT" or "Nintendo RVL-WBC".
This is, after-all, why the new -TR remotes were able to work with already released games.
e.g. The real Wii will connect a remote that is named "Nintendo RVL-CNT Nintendo is just okay".
Even though it's unlikely that new devices will be released at this point, I think it makes sense for our check to match.
