As Chairperson of India’s largest online commerce fest for high schools, led an event with over 2500 participants from more than 100 schools, including international institutions from the UAE, Indonesia, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.
In the previous edition, handling administration for Crescendo with 65 registered schools required 4 members and 2 heads. Each school had an individual spreadsheet for participant details across 9 events in two age categories (CR-J and CR-S), along with a separate spreadsheet for contingent details like the contingent leader and teachers-in-charge. Schools were given a shared spreadsheet for event registrations, which was inconvenient to navigate, especially on mobile devices.
So as chairperson in 2024, I aimed to scale up operations with greater efficiency and precision. To achieve this, I developed a website using the Django framework. Schools were provided login credentials to update their details and event registrations directly on a user-friendly platform, which synced with a centralised back-end spreadsheet. With this system, we managed to register 100+ schools efficiently. Instead of 6 students managing 100 spreadsheets and creating email IDs for each participant, only 2 students were needed, who were rather focused on increasing registrations.
