Bangladesh Energy Transition and Energy Security Simulation

A comprehensive simulation framework for analyzing Bangladesh's energy transition and energy security scenarios.

Overview

This project provides a detailed simulation framework for analyzing Bangladesh's energy transition pathways, focusing on renewable energy integration, grid stability, market operations, and environmental impacts. The framework includes multiple interconnected models that simulate various aspects of the energy system.

Features

Core Models

  • Energy System Model: Simulates power generation, demand, and system operation
  • Economic Model: Analyzes investment requirements, costs, and economic impacts
  • Environmental Model: Calculates emissions, water use, and land use impacts
  • Grid Stability Model: Analyzes power system stability and reliability
  • Storage Model: Models energy storage technologies and their integration
  • Demand Response Model: Simulates load flexibility and demand-side management
  • Transmission Network Model: Analyzes power flow and network constraints
  • Distribution Network Model: Models low-voltage network operations
  • Market Model: Simulates electricity market operations and pricing
  • Weather Model: Analyzes weather patterns and renewable resources

Analysis Tools

  • Base case simulation
  • Scenario analysis
  • Sensitivity analysis
  • Advanced visualizations
  • Comprehensive reporting

Installation

git clone https://github.com/deluair/Renewable-Energy-Transition-and-Energy-Security-for-Bangladesh.git
cd Renewable-Energy-Transition-and-Energy-Security-for-Bangladesh
  1. Create a virtual environment (recommended):
python -m venv venv
source venv/bin/activate # On Windows: venv\Scripts\activate
  1. Install dependencies:
pip install -r requirements.txt

Usage

Running Simulations

  1. Base Simulation:
python -m bangladesh_energy.run_simulation
  1. Scenario Analysis:
python -m bangladesh_energy.run_scenarios
  1. Sensitivity Analysis:
python -m bangladesh_energy.run_sensitivity

Output Files

The simulation generates several output files in the results directory:

  • CSV files with detailed results
  • PNG files with visualizations
  • Markdown reports summarizing findings
