Header Parser and IP Lookup function

While project Phase 1 is focused on Wireguard core function, which is its Crypto block, deferring the high capacity, high performance Address Lookup function to Phase 2, or to another project all together, this discussion thread is to serve as a scrapbook of ideas, to prep the ground for this future undertaking.

The maximalist target capacity of IP Lookup Engine for Wireguard VPN apps in the 1Gbps performance bracket is 128 entries. For more, see this.

Tip: WireGuard does not natively support DHCP. It is therefore primarily used in the static configurations, that is with fixed assignment of peers.

That's why, compared to an ordinary Ethernet Switch, Wireguard VPN Switch does not require excessively high number of entries for its header lookup tables.
