The CiviCRM database has a function in it (used for phone number processing). The default behavior of mysqldump is to not include functions. If one imports the CiviCRM db without that function, it prompts you in the status report to rebuild it, so it's still usable, but it would be better to include the function in the dump—which we do by adding the
-R
option.This is only needed when we dump the Civi db, but there's no harm in adding it when we dump the Backdrop db, and by including it everywhere it keeps the code parallel.
