ICME Interview Workshop

For Fall of 2020, I have proposed that we split the workshop into two 1-hour blocks. The first block will be an introductory section, and the second block will be a more advanced section. In this way, we can provide different support levels depending on the experiene level of our students.

Intro Interview Programming Workshop

The first workshop in the series is targeting students who are currently taking CME 211 and are looking for their first graduate-level internship. We will outline what to expect from a quantitative interview as well as go over several programming questions, which will be solved using Python. We'll also describe how to analyze the asymptotic complexity of our solutions. At the end, we'll discuss the basics of how to write SQL programs.

Intermediate Interview Programming Workshop

This second workshop in the series is targeting students who have already taken CME 211/212 and have internship or work experience in quantitative fields. It is not designed as a continuation of the first workshop, although students who plan to participate in the second workshop may benefit from reviewing the introductory workshop material. We'll talk briefly about interview strategies, cover some more advanced programming questions (solved using C++), as well as more advanced SQL techniques.
