The first time you need to install the dependencies
npm install
Then to start the development server:
npm run dev
The website contains lots of pictures: on the main page, in spectacle/{year}
...
I suggest to keep the best pictures of the previous years, and add a few pictures each years.
Each year, after the spectacle, you will need to add pictures made during the representations.
These high quality pictures can weight a lot. If we add 3/4 Go of pictures each year to this repository, it will become really hard to clone. Moreover these original pictures will never be used, as we use NuxtImage
for optimization.
Use the script image_manipulation.ts to export images. All information are included in the file.
You should keep the same format for the video, which is light and made for the web. You can use the following command to convert a video to the right format :
ffmpeg -i input_file.mp4 -c:v libvpx -crf 40 -b:v 300k -an -vf "scale=1280:720" public/videos/video-intro.webm
Change the file public/videos/video-intro.webm
WARNING: this video will be loaded on each access to our website. It must be as light as possible. If the quality of the video is bad, it is possible to reduce the 40 (ex: 10 is pretty high quality) but don't forget the video will be in background, bellow the logo, at the top of the page Less than 8 Mo seems like a good compromise for me
Our site is really big, it is really important to optimize it when possible
For PNG you can use: https://tinypng.com/
In layouts/default.vue you will be able to configure global variables.
- by settings
castingOpen
to true, the website will advertise its casting page. You should set this during the castings phases, but disable it the rest of the year, to prevent unnecessary informations. The majority of /castings pages should not be really relevant for people outside our schools
Before publishing the presentation page of the new edition (/spectacle/YEAR
), you can create a countdown page using the component RevelationCountdown
The website integrates privacy friendly Plausible Analytics. You can use custom ref
to analyze where did users get the link from.
For example use:
- https://commuz.fr/spectacle/2025?ref=comm for printed qrcode in local shops
- https://commuz.fr/spectacle/2025?ref=mail for link sent by email
You will need to integrate YouTube videos for the trailer. We use for this the incredible NuxtScripts tool.
To easily integrate a YouTube video, there is a component which import the player, add the thumbnail and a Youtube icon:
<YoutubeVideo class="h-96" videoId="0in9oBqaI0I" />
don't forger to fix its size (for example h-96
)
If you need to import fonts, I suggest to use fonts.bunny.net which is more privacy friendly than Google Font
