Prepare and install additional software

install powerline fonts used by vim and tmux

• get powerline fonts, e.g. nerd-fonts (git clone https://github.com/ryanoasis/nerd-fonts.git --depth=1)
• install a few of them, .e.g. Monospace, Meslo, UbuntuMono (./install.sh [font name])

install vim theme

• copy happy_hacking.vim to ~/.vim/colors

install vim plugins

• run :PlugInstall in vim
