About The Project

Find My Pet is an Android mobile application where you can report your lost pet. If other people find your lost pet, they can contact you. Alternatively, you can be the one to make someone's day brigther by finding their pet! The following GitHub repository holds the front-end part of the application built in Android Studio.

Getting Started

The following instructions will help you to run this project on your local machine for development and testing purposes:

  1. Clone the repository:
    https://github.com/Sunglow-nc/findmypet-android-ui.git
  1. Navigate to the project directory:
    cd findmypet-android-ui
  1. Open the application with Android Studio

  2. Run the application using Google Pixel 6 as the Android Virtual Device (AVD)

Prerequisites

Installation

  1. Obtain a Google Maps API key and place it in the local.properties file.
  2. Run the Find My Pet API in the background.

Future implementations

  • Implement user accounts and OAuth 2.0 so users can store, update and delete their own animals in their account.
