OpenC64TapePortBreakOut is an Open Hardware PCB that breaks out all the pins on a Commodore 1530 Datassette Connector. It is mainly useful for building Tapuino devices.
OpenC64TapePortBreakOut can be used to make an ad adapter to connect a Commodore 1530 Datassette to a Commodore 16, Plus 4 and other members of the 264 family which use a 1531 Datasssette.
To do so, get a 7-pin Mini-Din cable-mount connector and solder each pin to the corresponding OpenC64TapePortBreakOut pin, using the following pinout:
Pin# | Function |
---|---|
1 | GND |
2 | Vcc |
3 | Motor |
4 | Read |
5 | Write |
6 | Sense |
7 | NC (or GND) |
OpenC64TapePortBreakOut is Open Hardware. If you make any modifications to the board, please contribute them back.
Since the project is open you are free to get the PCBs made by your preferred manufacturer, however in case you want to support the development, you can order them from PCBWay through this link:
You get cheap, professionally-made and good quality PCBs, I get some credit that will help with this and other projects. You won't even have to worry about the various PCB options, it's all pre-configured for you!
Also, if you still have to register to that site, you can use this link to get some bonus initial credit (and yield me some more).
Again, if you want to use another manufacturer, feel free to, don't feel obligated :).
If you need help or have questions, you can join the official Telegram group.
Thanks to Terje Abbedissen for supporting the development.
