Realms of Reality Portal is a custom Chrome Extension that includes dynamic backgrounds, a weather widget, inspirational quotes, a time display, a Google search bar, and a collection of useful links. This project aims to provide users with a visually appealing and functional dashboard every time they open their browsers and to challenge our perception of what reality truly means to us.

• Dynamic Backgrounds: The background images cycle through a selection of high-resolution space-themed images, providing a fresh and engaging user experience.
• Weather Widget: Real-time weather updates.
• Inspirational Quotes: A random quote from a curated list is displayed to inspire users throughout their day.
• Time Display: The current time is prominently displayed in a large, readable format.
• Google Search Bar: Fully functional search bar.
• Useful Links: Quick access buttons to the project maintainers' GitHub profiles, Tarot, Runes, I Ching, Planetary Positions & Transits, Horoscopes, Space News, and Scale of the Universe. All are located in the hidden left-side menu, just hover over!

Root Directory:

1. manifest.json:

   • Metadata file required by Chrome extensions.
   • Contains information about the extension's name, version, permissions, scripts, and more.

2. index.html: The main HTML file containing the structure of the start page.

Styles Directory (styles/):

• index.css: Contains the main CSS styles for the page layout, elements, and animations.
• quotes.css: Specific styles for the quotes section of the page.

Scripts Directory (scripts/):

• index.js: The main JavaScript file handling the interactivity and dynamic elements of the start page.
• weather.js: A script dedicated to fetching and displaying weather information.
• quotes.js: Responsible for cycling through different quotes on the page.

APIs Used 💫💫💫

• OpenWeather API: For current weather updates.

Setup and Installation 💫💫💫

-Step 1: Head to the project GitHub repo Hacksprint from there you will click Code and copy the repo link

-Step 2: Open your terminal on your local computer, for this demo we will use Powershell. Then open the location you'd like to save the extension at (we are using Demo folder) with cd path/to/your/folder.

-Step 3: When you are in the target location, enter git clone and paste the link. This will save the repository to your computer.

-Step 4: Next you'll open your Google Chrome window and click on the three vertical dots in the corner. This will open a drop-down menu, go to extensions then click manage extensions.

-Step 5: This will take you to the extensions page. From there you will click Load unpacked in the top left corner.

-Step 6: A window will pop up for you to locate the repository you saved in steps 1-3. Find your file, select Hacksprint, and click Select folder.

-Step 7: Now the extension has been uploaded as an active extension in your Chrome profile. You will see it in the All Extensions menu, labeled Realms of Reality Portal.

-Step 8: From there you may open new tabs and enjoy our Chrome extension!

Note: This extension will be available in the Chrome store soon! So steps 1-6 will be obsolete, you'll be able to get this free extension through Google's Chrome Web Store.
