3.2 backup and restore

NAO Cadet stores all the scripts, motions, sounds and videos within a database or as files on the NAO. As with anything digital, It is important that you back-up this data on a regular basis. If you have any issues with NAO Cadet, you may also be asked to supply a backup file so we can see exactly how your copy of NAO Cadet is configured.

Backup and restoration functions can only be done by either the Admin or Root users.

Backup Files & Database

  1. Log-in to NAO Cadet using the Admin or Root user.

  2. On the dashboard, select the Backup option.

  1. After the backup process is completed, you will be prompted to save the backup file (backup.tar.gz) to your computer.

Restoring Files & Database

  1. Log-in to NAO Cadet using the Admin or Root user.

  2. On the dashboard, select the Restore option.

  1. You will be prompted to upload a backup file (this file must be in the tar.gz format) from your computer. After the restore process is completed, all users will be asked to reload NAO Cadet.

⚠️ Warning: This process will delete any previous locations, users, scripts, files and motions and replace them with the contents of the uploaded backup file.
