File of file names with GUI on Windows #3460

Description

What I expect to see

When checking "File of file names", clicking Browse and selecting a txt file with file names or paths, MSconvert will parse the file and convert the corresponding files as detailed in the options and filters.

What I actually see

  • The file dialogue that opens after clicking Browse filters for spectra files (i.e. raw, .d etc) and doesnt allow picking my txt file
  • When I enter the full path to the txt file manually, I get an "Illegal characters in path" error.

Image

The txt file has the following syntax using Unix line endings (i.e. LF only)

Ascend000332.raw
Ascend000334.raw
Ascend000335.raw
Ascend000340.raw
Ascend000351.raw
Ascend000356.raw
Ascend000363.raw
Ascend000364.raw

I also tried with full paths with the same lack of success.

Logs

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.
