Remote File over SSH sarching for a String in a Re Main Features Intuitive Graphical Interface
The software uses the tkinter library to provide a simple and user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI). Users can easily input the necessary parameters for connection and search without having to interact with the command line.
Connection Parameters To use the software, the user must provide the following parameters:
Server: The address of the remote server to connect to.
Username: The username for SSH authentication.
Password: The password associated with the username.
Remote File: The path of the file on the remote server from which to download the data.
Local File Name: The path where the downloaded file will be saved locally.
String to Search: The string that you want to search for within the file.
Secure Connection via SSH
Using the paramiko library, the software establishes a secure connection to the remote server. This ensures that the data is protected during transfer and that access is authorized.
File Download and Analysis
Once the connection is established, the program downloads the specified remote file and saves it to the indicated local path. Subsequently, the software opens the file and searches for the specified string.
Occurrence Counting
The software not only displays the lines containing the searched string but also counts how many times it appears in the file. This count is shown to the user via a message box, providing immediate feedback on the operation.
