We are currently pursuing 6 tracks:

  1. #38: mods for better high latitude clouds
  2. #42: #38 with ice cloud changes from Toniazzo and Herrington
  3. #40: different enthalpy formulation
  4. #43: taus code - Ben's tuning (run stopped - possible machine issue)
  5. #44: taus code - #37 tuning
  6. Currently only F-case: Rich's ZM depth changes

X. Currently only F-case: AODDUST changes

Notes: we want to adopt 6 when approved. Thereafter we will likely use 4. Note that 7. will likely need re-tuning of CLUBB/MG.

Climate sensitivity

  • [Vince] This paper seems to suggest that CAM7's climate sensitivity is strong even after the ice microphysics has been updated.
