GeForce Now Differences

  • the act-tracker doesn't have access to the client.txt log-file, so it can't track your progress

    • you have to manually switch guide pages via hotkeys (default: F3 & F4)

    • some sub-features that require the log-file (e.g. timer, gear tracker) are not available

Initial Setup

  • open the settings menu by clicking the cogwheel icon on the toolbar and go to the act-tracker section

  • after enabling the feature, this toggle button will appear in the tool's main toolbar:

    img

  • UI settings (text-size, transparency) can be changed once a guide has been imported and the guide overlay is on screen

Setting up the Guide

  • open the act-tracker menu section, and click load default guide on the first guide-slot

    image

  • additional options will be available once a guide-slot has been enabled

    image

    • import: imports PoB-codes or custom guides from clipboard into this guide-slot

    • edit: opens the guide editor for this guide-slot

    • league-start: this toggle changes the routing of the guide with regards to quests/objectives that only have to be done once per league

    • optionals: this toggle shows/hides optional quests/bosses/loot

    • bandit (PoE1): this drop-down list changes the routing of the guide with regards to the act 2 bandit-quest

Leveling Guide: Usage

  • after enabling and selecting a guide-slot, you can left-click the toggle-button on the main toolbar to hide/show the overlay:

    image

  • by default, it will be placed at the bottom edge of the client

    • you can reposition it by dragging the small white square, or reset it by right-clicking the square

      image

  • it generally does not block clicks, except for the < and > buttons

  • most of the time, it will show multiple steps of the guide and refer to a specific location in the last line

    • once you enter that specific location the overlay will switch to the next page

    • the whole campaign can be played without having to directly interact with the overlay

  • each line is a new step that needs to be completed before going to the next line

    • PoE2: some steps start with "find X:" or "X tasks:", which means these sub-tasks can be completed simultaneously / in random order
  • indented lines have a smaller font and they provide additional information/hints

    • these sometimes span multiple lines, so the previous "1 line = 1 task" statement doesn't always apply here

  • PoE1: if a step includes buying gems or items from vendors, you can long-press the omni-key while the vendor-window is open to highlight them

    image

  • text may sometimes be highlighted in teal, which means additional illustrations are available (viewable by holding TAB)

    image

Timer: Setup & Usage

  • this feature needs to be enabled in the settings menu

  • once enabled, the timer will show between the guide text and the control buttons
    image

  • how to (re)start a run

    • create a new character and enter the first zone (this step is important for correct CSV-logging)

    • long-right-click act # to reset the timer and the guide progress

    • click act 1 to start the timer

  • there's basic CSV-logging to a campaign runs.csv file in the export folder of the script

    • times are added as you transition between acts

    • make sure to not have the file open while running acts, as it may become read-only (depending on the app used)

Timer: Behavior

  • the timer runs independently of the guide or its progress, and instead uses your current location to transition between acts

    • NOTE: the timer has to be running/ticking in order to track the current act

    • act # will change to act # + 1 whenever you enter any zone of act # + 1 (not when skipping through the guide by using the > button

  • there is an option to automatically pause the timer while in hideout (for trades, etc.) and resume it upon leaving again

  • the timer pauses while neither the PoE client nor an LLK-UI window/overlay are focused, which means ALT-TAB time will not be logged

  • starting a new session / restarting the tool will put the timer into pause-mode (grayed out), requiring you to click act # whenever you wish to continue

  • the timer sees a run as completed upon entering the Karui Shores: the timers will pause and turn green

Effective Exp

  • the bottom-right of the guide-overlay shows how much effective exp you gain in the current area and/or whether you're over/under-leveled

min | current | max area level to gain 100% e-exp current e-exp (area is too low/high)
    image image
    • PoE2: the exact exp-formula is currently unknown, so it will only show whether you're over/under-leveled

    • you have to specify your character's name in the general section of the settings menu first

    • keep an eye on this if you want to avoid over-leveling/pacing

(PoE1) Gear Tracker

  • this is an optional feature that has to be enabled first, and it requires specifying your character's name in the general section of the settings menu

    image

  • it is primarily designed around twink-leveling but can be used in different ways

  • you can add items to this UI, and it will notify you once you have reached their level requirements: the toggle button in the toolbar will show a green number

  • importing a build via exile-leveling will automatically add all the gems in that build to the tracker, so you don't have to do it manually

  • it can also be used on its own, without importing a guide/PoB-build

  • right-click the toggle-button to show/hide the gear-tracker panel:

    • this panel will be positioned in the center of the client-window
  • while the gear tracker is open, omni-clicking items will add them to the tracker

    • equippable items will be highlighted in green

    • left-click an item to highlight it in game (for vendors or stash)

    • hold right-click to remove it from the tracker

  • the tracker can be closed again by pressing ESC or right-clicking the toggle button

PoB Gem Setups/Links

  • you have to generate a build-code in PoB and import it into one of the guide-slots by clicking the import button in the act-tracker settings

  • hold the omni-key while hovering over a gem to display an overlay that shows every skill-set from the PoB that contains that specific gem

    image

    • PoE2: this overlay can also be accessed via uncut gems, and it will show every gem of that type included in the PoB (skill, spirit, uncut)
  • there is an optional setting to set this overlay to toggle instead of hold, i.e. it stays open when you release the omni-key, until you press ESC

    • in this mode, you can drag the overlay by long-clicking a gem name (not skill-set) and you can click gem names to start an in-game search
  • you can hover over the individual skill-sets or press Q and E to switch back and forth and compare the gem-setups

  • PoE1: use this overlay to check how to link the gems that the guide tells you to buy/take and whether the build uses specific gems more than once

  • PoE2: whenever you find a lvl-X uncut gem, you can check the overlay for the optimal usage

  • PoE2: you can omni-click (tap, not hold) uncut gems to copy a regex-string into the clipboard that can be used to highlight every gem of that type in the gemcutting window

(PoE1) Notepad Gem Reminder

  • you can create a notepad tab called gems and quickly add gems that you cannot afford during early league-start (as a reminder to buy them later)

  • while that tab is open, omni-click gems to add them to the list

(PoE1) Gem search-strings

  • when importing a PoB-code that contains gems, a string for the search-strings feature will be generated and saved

    • this string highlights every gem from an imported build in the vendor window

    • this is meant to be used for bulk-purchasing gems when starting a new character

  • the search-strings section of the settings menu will have a new search entry for hideout Lilly which has to be calibrated and tested first

  • pressing the omni-key when Lilly's gem window is open will paste the search-string into the search-field

  • this search-string will highlight gems for each individual gem-tab in the vendor window in sequence

    • open the first vendor-tab and press the omni-key

    • if gems are highlighted, buy them; if none are highlighted, switch vendor-tabs until you find highlighted gems and buy them

    • scroll down once: if gems are highlighted, buy them; if not, switch tabs again

    • repeat until every required gem has been bought

Skill-Tree Overlay (PoB schematics)

  • importing a PoB-code enables the act-tracker to render skill-tree schematics

  • after setting up the skilltree image check, you can press TAB to toggle the overlay when the in-game skill-tree is on screen

    image

    • for the time being, the overlay has to be used while the in-game tree is fully zoomed out

    • pressing TAB or ESC will close it

  • hold right-click and drag the overlay across the screen and align it with the in-game tree

    image

    • after aligning, you can hold left- and right-click to drag both trees at the same time

  • press Q and E to switch between the individual skill-trees (if the PoB has more than one)

    image

    • new nodes will be highlighted in green, respecs in red

    • the name of the current tree is displayed at the top edge of the client-area

      image

  • hold number-keys 1 through 4 to show the individual ascendancy-trees

    1: normal 2: cruel 3: merciless 4: uber
    image image image image
    • the ascendancy-trees will be displayed (and the rest of the tree will be hidden) for the duration of the keypress only

  • hold W to display an overview-schematic of the whole tree for the duration of the keypress

    image

  • the in-game skill-tree resets its position on every relog, so the overlay has to be re-aligned every time

    • to circumvent this inconvenience, you can press SPACE to center the tree's starting point (white/yellow circle) around the cursor's current position:

      PoE 1 PoE 2
      image image
    • when opening the skill-tree after relogging, simply move the cursor to the center of the starting-circle and press SPACE

Skill-Tree Overlay (manual screen-caps): Setup

  • requires the skilltree image-check to be set up correctly in the screen-checks section of the settings menu

  • go to the act-tracker section in the settings menu

  • import images using the screen-cap menu

    image

  • images all have their own slots into which they are loaded via pasting or screen-capping

    • click paste to insert one or more files from clipboard (copied via file explorer), or raw image data (copied from an image editor or browser)

    • OR click snip to open a snipping widget with which to capture images directly from your screen

    • once an image has been loaded, the slot-number number can be clicked to add an optional caption

      image

Skilltree Overlay (manual screen-caps): Usage

  • holding the omni-key while the in-game skilltree is open will overlay screenshots onto the client, as well as an icon-group with lab icons to the right of it
    image
    • underneath the screenshot, there's the caption that you can add during import and a gray bar that represents how close this image is to the end of the sequence

    • releasing the omni-key will hide the overlay again

    • right-clicks switch to the next image, long right-clicks to the previous one

    • the overlay will always open the image that was last viewed, and this also carries over between sessions

    • hovering over the lab-icons will display the corresponding ascendancy skilltree

Guide Editor

  • the guide editor is coded to also be usable while the game-client is in the background, so you can edit guides while using a browser, etc.

  • open the act-tracker section in the settings

  • select which guide-slot you want to edit and click the edit button

  • the guide editor's text area is divided into three input-fields, and these represent the pages of the guide-overlay that will be on screen while playing:

    image

  • each input-field has a preview button that can be long-clicked to preview the final version on the guide-overlay:

    image

  • while the mouse-cursor is hovering over the editor window, you can scroll the mouse-wheel to go through the guide pages

  • you can add conditions (league-start yes/no, bandit choice) to individual guide-pages so they only show if that condition is met in the campaign-run

  • input-fields will be highlighted blue if they contain unsaved changes, or red if an areaID is missing

    image

Guide Editor: Formatting

  • each page has to contain at least one areaID so that the guide-overlay knows when to switch to the next page

    • the guide-overlay uses the last areaID of a page that is not placed in an indented/hint line
  • text can be highlighted by selecting a string in the editor and then clicking one of the highlight-button in the bottom-right

    • the guide-overlay automatically highlights strings orange after "kill ", e.g. "kill the_dweller_of_the_deep"

      image

    • this can also be done manually by using "arena:XYZ", e.g. "arena:kabala is often..."
