Hi! 👋 I'm Lindsey Parkinson, a data analyst with a background in food contact materials, boreal forest ecology, and science communication
Creating interactive tools and reviewing the latest research for the Food Packaging Forum. These include:
- FCCmigex dashboard
A tool to explore the Database on migrating and extractable food contact chemicals (FCCmigex). As of the last update in October 2022, the database contains over 24,000 database entries with data from more than 1,300 scientific studies covering >4,200 food contact chemicals. - Brand and Retailer Initiatives Database
Tracking packaging-related sustainability initiatives and commitments by food brands and retailers from around the world. - Useful resources repository on the FPF GitHub page
Tools and information to make research on chemicals easier. Including functions to 1) take a DataFrame with citation information and generate an EndNote-compatible .txt file. 2) Python script provides tools for validating Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) Registry Numbers and working with them in a dataframe.
Writing and analysis for the Alaska Berry Futures Berries in Alaska's Changing Environment series of booklets. I also maintain the project's GitHub page.
