Go to https://www.tenable.com/products/nessus/nessus-essentials and register an account.
Download the Nessus installer from the Tenable website.
Open Terminal -Navigate to that folder"download" and run the following command:
sudo dpkg -i "package_file.deb"
Nowstart the Nessus Service with the command:.using -sudo /bin/systemctl start nessusd.service.
Open up browser and past this URL:
You may be prompted with a security risk alert......Click Advanced... -> Accept the Risk and Continue
Setting up the scanner.
Select the option Nessus Essentials and click continue.
Next you will be able to use your activation License and click continue.
Create your Username and Password fields. Make sure to use a strong password!
9 Nessus now installing the plugins required for it to function.
After installing plugins Log in with the account credentials you made earlier.
After successfully installing Nessus! Your dashboard will appear like this .
When you click new scan you will have this dashboard
