Tool For Automating Arch Installation

This set of scripts is used for automating each part of the arch installation process. This script can be very easily modified to install distros such as Artix & etc. as well. Run the scripts in the right order to successfuly install arch. Always switch system boot settings to UEFI if it's BIOS by default (even in a virtual environment) before running this script.

Order of the scripts

1. format_n_mount.sh
2. install_pkgs_n_chroot.sh
3. config_base_install.sh
4. config_fresh_install.sh
5. finish_install.sh

What a complete installation might look like

format_n_mount.sh

ping www.archlinux.org
# dhclient
pacman-key --init
pacman -Sy
pacman -S git
cd /root
git clone https://github.com/Hmz-x/arch-install
./arch-install/format_n_mount.sh
# If something wrong with fstab entry, fix it and write to /mnt/etc/fstab
# genfstab -U /mnt > /mnt/etc/fstab

install_pkgs_n_chroot.sh

./arch-install/install_pkgs_n_chroot.sh
# You are now inside chroot

config_base_install.sh

pacman -Sy
pacman -S git
cd /root
git clone https://github.com/Hmz-x/arch-install
./arch-install/config_base_install.sh
exit # exit out of chroot
umount -R /mnt # unmount all partitions
reboot # remove installation media once machine is shut off

config_fresh_install.sh

# Log in as root
./arch-install/config_fresh_install.sh

finish_install.sh

# Log back in as regular user
sudo dhclient # Run if a network connection is not present
