RuddBlink was designed to be relatively easy to solder, with large components (0805, SOIC, and SOT-23).

However, the components are surface-mount and rather closely packed, in order to keep the keychain small and aesthetically pleasing. As such, you should have at least some experience with surface mount soldering before assembling RuddBlink.

Recommended Soldering Order

  1. 8 LEDs
  2. R10, R11, C1, C2
  3. ATtiny85 (SOIC-8)
  4. R9
  5. 74HC595 (SOIC-16)
  6. R1-R8
  7. Button and slide switch
  8. MOSFET (SOT-23) and fuse
  9. Battery holder
