sudo apt install libarchive-tools coreutils quilt parted qemu-user-static debootstrap zerofree zip dosfstools libcap2-bin grep rsync xz-utils file git curl bc
The below config
file assumes you use the apt-cache docker container and
start it with: docker-compose up -d
.
IMG_NAME="mote"
TARGET_HOSTNAME="mote"
FIRST_USER_PASS="<passwd>"
DEPLOY_ZIP=1
LOCALE_DEFAULT="en_US.UTF-8"
KEYBOARD_KEYMAP="us"
KEYBOARD_LAYOUT="English (US)"
ENABLE_SSH=1
STAGE_LIST="stage0 stage1 stage2 kevin robot"
WPA_ESSID=<ssid>
WPA_PASSWORD=<passwd>
WPA_COUNTRY=us
APT_PROXY=http://172.17.0.1:3142
Basically you just run ./setup.sh user_pwd ssid ssid_pwd
and it does the following:
- Clone pi-gen:
git clone --depth=1 https://github.com/RPi-Distro/pi-gen.git
cp -R kevin pi-gen/
cp config pi-gen
- Set correct
<ssid>
and<passwd>
for your network - Set correct
<passwd>
for default user
- Set correct
cd pi-gen
rm -fr stage3 stage4 stage5 export-noobs
rm stage2/EXPORT_NOOB
mv stage2/EXPORT_IMAGE kevin/
./build-docker.sh
PRESERVE_CONTAINER=1
keeps the container around so you can look at it, but you can leave it out too- If the build fails, you can fix the error and then run:
CONTINUE=1 ./build-docker.sh
- When complete, the zipped image should be in the folder:
deploy
- Unfortunately the image sizes exceed what github allows, so they are not in the repo
If you make changes and want to rebuild you can do:
- Start over completely from scratch:
./build-docker.sh
- Continue only update what you have changed:
CONTINUE=1 ./build-docker.sh
- To get access to the image root file system, use
${ROOTFS_DIR}/<some_file>
- Can't use
mv
, need to useinstall -m 644 <from> <to
- 00-packages: is
apt-get install -y $PACKAGES
- 00-packages-nr: is
apt-get install --no-install-recommends -y $PACKAGES
- No matter how you do it, you can't pre-install a current version of node using the script from the website
