This launcher aims to provide features like server queueing, friends and party system to HorizonMW. The project originally started out to address some issues of the in-game server browser in the legacy H2M.
Join if you want to stay up-to-date with the launcher, have questions, suggestions, or looking for people to play HMW with.

Each user gets assigned a randomly generated user name on first connection to the hub. The user is tied to a key stored locally. Create a party to find out your user name or id and share it with your friends:
There are two ways to add friends to your friends list:
Pending friend requests will appear in the Requests tab and can be accepted or rejected.
NOTE: After rejecting a friend request they can not send you further requests. So if you accidentally rejected someone, you'll have to send them a friend request.

Fastest way to access the directory is by pressing Win + R

Answer: Either the server is not running or you need to change one or more windows settings.
- If you are on Windows 11, you need to change your default terminal to
Windows Console Host
. This is found underSettings > System > For Developers
. Make sure to restart your game after changing the terminal.
- If the above does not apply to you or it still does not send a connect command, you may need to add/change your keyboard layout to
English US
.
Answer: Open the Server List or API Link in your browser and see if you are able to reach the domain. If not, then check if your ISP or firewall is blocking you from accessing the domain.
Alternatively, you can try switching to the alternative master server http://api.raidmax.org:5000
.
Answer: The launcher only displays servers that are actually running. Many servers in the IW4MAdmin-Master Panel are offline and reporting false stats.
- Make sure that the server reports an IPv4 Address to the panel, as IPv6 servers are not supported and will not show up.
Note
If you and others can connect to the server in game, but it does not show up, please report the concrete case!
Answer: It is possible that the launcher fails to copy the server command to your clipboard, this could be because another application is currently using your clipboard and is still holding on to that process. Go to your Windows Settings and search for Clear Clipboard.
Answer: Delete the launchersettings.json
file located at C:\Users\<YourUserName>\AppData\Local\BetterH2MLauncher
. After deleting the json file, next time you launch the exe it should be created again.
Answer: The mod executable may require administrator privileges to start, so the launcher fails to start or detect it. Try to start the launcher with admin privileges too.
Answer: You are probably still running H2M and trying to join a HMW server, which is incompatible. Unfortunately, H2M is dead and all servers switched to HMW, so you have to download HorizonMW.

If you wish to compile the code from source, clone the repository and open the
H2MLauncher.sln
solution using Visual Studio or JetBrains Rider. -
Open the terminal inside the
H2MLauncher.UI
project directory and run the following command to create a standalone executable:
dotnet publish -r win-x64 /p:PublishSingleFile=true /p:IncludeNativeLibrariesForSelfExtract=true --self-contained true
- The executable should now be found under
bin/Release/net8.0/win-x64/publish
and you can copy it into your game directory from there.
