Lithium Battery Charger + 5V Booster Circuit

3D PCB Render

Compact power management solution featuring:

  • TI BQ24075 for lithium charging (USB-C input)
  • PAM2401 boost converter (0.9V→5V output)
  • 24x34mm footprint with status LEDs

Key Features

Smart Charging

  • CC/CV with battery temp monitoring
  • 500mA default charge current (adjustable)

Efficient Boosting

  • 92% peak efficiency
  • 2.2µH inductor optimized for compact size

Production-Ready

  • JLCPCB-compatible design
  • Includes stencil files

Getting Started

  1. Order PCBs: Upload GERBER Files to JLCPCB
  2. Online Design Altium 365 design sharing
  3. Assembly:
    • Use included pick-and-place file for automated assembly
    • Or hand-solder with reflow/hotplate
  4. Testing: Verify 5.1V output before load connection

Design Notes

⚠️ Critical Lesson:
Isolate charger/booster outputs! Early versions had contention issues (see video).
